St. Petersburg, FL is becoming even happier, healthier and more welcoming place for pets, and BluePearl was happy to be present today for the announcement. Mayor Rick Kriseman said St. Petersburg will participate in Mars Petcare’s BETTER CITIES FOR PETS initiative, which outlines 12 traits of pet-friendly cities. The city already has many pet-friendly amenities, and it plans to develop a pet-friendly business program among other enhancements. It’s a great partnership with many community organizations, including BluePearl, the Pinellas County Veterinary Medical Association, SPCA Tampa Bay, PetPal Animal Shelter, Friends of Strays, Pinellas County Animal Services and more. All we can say is, it must have seemed like a good idea at the time. Yes, this feral cat managed to get his head stuck inside a mayonnaise jar. The kind people at Tabby's Place cat sanctuary rescued him and brought him to our sister hospital, the Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center in Levittown, PA. Our vets sedated the cat and snipped off the plastic jar. Nice work everyone!
