Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken Is Here, Houston

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is located at 1815 Washington Ave. They’re open 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken Is Here, Houston
There was no line Monday morning as Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken opened its doors for its first day of service, but I suspect they'll arrive in time. Although there was speculation on some corners of the internet about what the wait would be at Gus's once it opened, there was just me, your humble narrator, waiting a full two minutes after 11 a.m.

Warning: The following burgers are as messy as they are tasty, requiring at least five napkins and/or a bib. We take no responsibility for any fine clothing worn during their consumption. While this small Houston chain is usually thought of as a healthier option-its lineup of salads and veggie-forward sides may have something to do with that-you shouldn't count out the downtown location's guilty-pleasure burger.

Help the Local Fight Against AIDS by Dining Out For Life
While the PSAs are not as ubiquitous as they once were, the fight against HIV and AIDS continues. There are plenty of people who have the diseases that still need help to live, and luckily for them, there are organizations coast to coast that provide that help, at great cost.
