Rice University’s Center for Energy & Environmental Research in the Human Sciences (CENHS) and Department of Anthropology is conducting research to find out, via surveys and in-person interviews, how people whose homes were flooded decide to stay or relocate. All of the results from this research will be anonymized, and shared with City of Houston and Harris County officials to help their planning and recovery efforts.

The Imani School has become a permanent fixture in my life and are now a part of my family. We experienced the best 11 years of my son's life at the Imani School. From the Infant and Toddler School to the Primary School, the Imani School is truly a "home away from home" for its students on a daily basis. The Imani School provides a family environment and ensures that the students are prepared to excel academically beyond elementary and middle school years. Mrs. Lincoln starts off this extraordinary journey in academia in Kindergarten and Ms. Y. Smith finalizes the journey in 8th grade, ensuring that all of her students are prepared for high school academically and emotionally. The Head of School Mrs. Williams, embraces all of "her children" with love daily and strives for each of them to be their best and do their best. Mrs. Garner and Mrs. Gray are always available with a smile to provide any assistance needed in the front office or with parent relations. The Imani School will forever be engrained in my heart as family and part of my village in educating and raising my son

My husband and I are so greatful of the character, leadership and education that the Imani school has provided to our son for 6 years grades 3-8. The school has given him the best educational and spiritual foundation to help him move forward with high school. The staff is very professional and will provide a very nurturing environment for your child. I would recommend to anyone wanting a safe, loving, spirital family environment to visit the Imani school. You will see changes and growth in your child that you never thought possible.
