Did you know dogs can get cataract surgery just like humans? This adorable 14-year-old poodle named Suzie could only detect light and shadows because of her cataracts. But now Suzie can see well again, thanks to retinal testing and cataract surgery with artificial lens implantation performed by Dr. Clara Williams, a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist at our Waltham, MA hospital. Her owner says Suzie is acting five years younger. And overall, this shows that even older pets can benefit from this type of surgery. Suzie is a bit more sensitive to sunlight now, but as you can see there is a solution to that problem. The hat and glasses help limit the sunlight -- plus she looks so stylish!

All we can say is, it must have seemed like a good idea at the time. Yes, this feral cat managed to get his head stuck inside a mayonnaise jar. The kind people at Tabby's Place cat sanctuary rescued him and brought him to our sister hospital, the Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center in Levittown, PA.
