Solid Waste Department (SWD) is currently ONLY picking up: REGULAR TRASH as scheduled regularly. HARVEY DEBRIS ~However~ to pick up the Harvey Debris, the homeowner must call 311 first. 311 will mail them an authorization form to complete and re-mail to 311, allowing SWD to enter the property to pick up the debris. Without that release, SWD WILL NOT pick up Harvey Debris. Solid Waste Department IS NOT PICKING UP: Yard Waste / Tree Waste Heavy Trash Q & A Why are some residents heavy trash being picked up and not mine? Dexter the Labrador retriever was shot in the head more than once, and a good Samaritan brought him to our BluePearl hospital in Brandon. While it appears the bullets missed his brain, he will need oral surgery to repair jaw damage and begin his journey to recovery. Dexter is getting excellent care by BluePearl clinicians, and rescuers with Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida are working to find him a new home.

Today we take a moment to celebrate the life of Emma Primas, a longtime member of her Fifth Ward church and Settegast-area civic club as well as the National Council of Negro Women's Houston chapter and the NAACP. Primas, whose electoral history as a black woman included being denied the vote and paying a poll tax to access a ballot, presided with dignity and humor over her descendants – including one child, four grandchildren and extending to five great-great-great grandchildren.
The big game is tomorrow... we are referring to the Puppy Bowl! Will you and your pets be watching? Don't forget about the kitty halftime show.
