We Party With a Purpose - Now More Than Ever! Thank you to NeighborWorks America and Greater Houston Community Foundation for the support of our community. "A large percentage of 5th Ward and adjoining community residents were affected by Hurricane Harvey. As a leader in comprehensive redevelopment, our organization has worked tirelessly for the past six months to assist area victims. Through our partnership with the Greater Houston Community Foundation, NeighborWorks America, Partner Churches and other service providers we have supported more than 500 families devastated by the storm. In the immediate days after the hurricane, we mobilized volunteers to clear out homes and help with repairs. Currently we continue to assist victims who are still in financial distress on a case-by-case basis with both housing repair and financial assistance. After nearly seven months of hard work, it is time to rejuvenate our spirit, celebrate community, and appreciate our "Harvey Heroes." Those people who went above and beyond to help victims of this tragic storm. Our theme is "Houston Strong & Nickel Proud." This city has survived one of the worst storms this country has ever seen. (This) Saturday we're going to stop and celebrate. We're inviting the community, along with the greater Houston area, to join in this FREE, family-friendly event. " ~ Kathy Payton, President and CEO, FWCRC Join us this Saturday - Lyons Avenue Renaissance Festival
