Currently on view at Rice is “Origin, 135 degrees” (2017) by artist Jarrod Beck, the inaugural project of Platform, a groundbreaking new series of temporary, responsive, and site-specific public art projects on the @riceuniversity campus. Beck used a Michael Heizer’s massive granite sculpture “45°, 90°, 180°” (1984) from the @ricepublicart collection as a starting point to construct this 9ft x 18ft x 140 ft steel structure and corresponding performance. On view btwn Sewall and Rayzor Halls through April! #RicePlatform @jarrodcharlesbeck
